Description
Fixed production platforms are permanent structures installed directly on the seabed. They are designed for long-term production and can support large crews, heavy processing equipment, and multiple well slots. These platforms are expensive to build but highly effective for large-scale, long-duration offshore projects.
Fixed platforms are typically built on steel jackets or concrete gravity bases anchored to the seabed. They can operate in water depths of up to approximately 1,700 feet (about 520 meters). Some designs use flexible tower structures for deeper waters up to 4,900 feet (about 1,500 meters). They integrate drilling, production, processing, and crew accommodation on a single facility.
